Also why a format that places the number 1 team and number 2 team against each other in the quarters? Or a format where you play your own country so early on? Obviously every country is going to try to win the most medals instead of knocking each other out before the medal rounds.

on nbc, they said it's not uncommon for a swimmer to shave 4-5 seconds off of their personal bests around that age. They said phelps shaved 4-5 seconds off his personal bests in the year he was trying out for the olympic team when he was 14 or 15 i think... so it's possible... i'll reserve judgement for those who do the dope tests... if she's clean, then why not celebrate the win?

I mean, it's not uncommon for a hockey player to suddenly burst out into a career year after doing squat for a few years. it could just be a career swim that she somehow did and may not ever accomplish again. Just like Cheechoo winning the rocket richard trophy after scoring 57 goals, then did jack after that lol...

so their intentional game throwing cost them the tournament because they got thrown out so in the end, throwing the game didn't gain them anything afterall...

i saw highlights of the teams throwing the games and it was hilarious actually lol... they held the birdie like they were gonna do a crazy serve but they kept serving it into the net.. it was pretty funny
