we've played two variations so far:
one purely on tagging for betting strength. doubling the tagged player's bet.
one on tagging for card trading blind, only matching the tagged player's bet.
both variations seem ok, but I am thinking now that the original idea may work the best, the one folding just gives all his cards to the player he tags, and he gets to choose the best pocket hand out of all the cards, rather than doing it blind. and match betting seems the way to go.
based on my experiences so far, double betting is too great of an advantage (especially if there is no-limit), and blind trading is too little of an advantage. so i think pick and choose trading is maybe that sweet spot in the middle. there needs to be just enough incentive to trade, but not so much too make it wildly unfair.
