not sure if the emailer is a "bully", but he definitely didn't call her fat. looks to me like a sympathy ploy.

they were talking about it on the radio, only caught a part of it, so didn't really know what was going on besides some fat lady on a tv show.

basically she got a private email from a viewer who expressed concern over her weight. it was a poorly worded email, but i don't think the guy meant to be mean (as she says) and was putting her down. he just has a skewed sense of priorities.

the ironic thing is that she seems to be more of a bully than him.

When I first heard of this on the news, I kinda took her side. But, after actually reading the email and hearing her rebuttal, I think she totally overreacted. His email may have been uncalled for and blunt but I wouldn't call that bullying. He wasn't trying to degrade her. He didn't call her a fugly slob that had no business on tv. He wasn't trying to make her cry. He wasn't trying to intimidate her or anything. I didn't detect any ill will on his part. Instead, it sounded like he was trying to encourage her to take responsibility for her health and to use her position in the media to take steps towards a healthier lifestyle and to become a role model in the community.

I mean... is Phil bullying Luongo everytime he calls him a sieve, or does he just want Luongo to prove him wrong?

She claims to have a thick skin but she clearly does not.

yeah, that's exactly what i was thinking.
the point is that it was a private email. he didn't post it online. he didn't talk about it on tv. SHE did.

it's like she's playing victim by making this a bigger deal than it is. and then trying to come out the hero by slaying the mythical bully dragon.
