Laptop or desktop as main computer

it's more geared towards AIO and tablets. All i know is that everyone in NYC is working around the clock preparing for the launch. Lots of finger pointing. Right now money is no object as long as they can meet the deadline.

there are microsoft kiosks at metro and oakridge gearing up for the launch. i'm curious as to how they'll do.

I think MS is shutting down Times Square for one of their multiple NYC events.

haha. Well TImes Square does get shut down every sunday for foot traffic only now. DIdn't think they did it before. Lots of street vendors show up, short of like a night market in the day, but it's mostly terrorist food and $5 t-shirts.

i know they shut down here and there for different events, but the launch of an operating system seems like it's not a big enough event to actually shut it down haha.

so anyone get windows 8 yet? apparently it's only $40 if you use xp or anything newer.

I think for upgrades there were specials for $15.

oh, the site i saw said the upgrade was $40 until january, then it jumps to $199.

I think there was an upgrade promo for $15 if it is for a new laptop/desktop with Win 7 preinstalled.
