ICBC Crown corporation accountability

The government only took $500 mil of the $3 Bil surplus from ICBC. The abuse I'm talking about is ICBC hiring all those overpaid execs and upper-management when it's not needed.

I'm not blaming ICBC for being a crown corporation. I'm blaming them for not being a true crown corporation. Actually, the problem is because the government ISN'T controlling ICBC enough. There isn't enough oversight or accountability. Well, the gov't is claiming ignorance on the ICBC issue, but I guess maybe everything is going according to plan for them? Who knows...

Is a private company going to care more about its consumers? Maybe yes, maybe no... but ICBC as it is now, they sure don't seem like they care.

also in your definition of "true crown corporation", bclottery isn't one either. nearly 60% of it's revenue goes toward government spending. it was 1.1B last year of net revenue that went to various government funds.

a true crown corporation should be pushing for cheaper lottery tickets then shouldn't it, or more prize give outs.

It's not my definition.. It's a widely accepted definition.

BCLC may have its failings as a crown corp, but you don't have to play. I guess we don't have to drive either..
