I'm not a big Anne Hathaway fan either... but she's pretty good in the new Batman.

Really?!?!? I find that she's quite versitile as an actor (great comedy, award winning drama, and she gets an "A" for effort for trying to cover Franco's doped up ass), quite athletic, not ugly, and used to be one of the premier sopranos in the world before she decided to focus on her acting career.

I mean apart from her fun girly roles have any of you watched Broke Back, Havoc, Becoming Jane, Rachel Getting Married, or Love and other Drugs?

And even then, her girly roles were very good. Devil Wears Prada, Rio, Get Smart, Hoodwinked. All very watchable.

In fact as I sit down to think about this, the only other young actress that I'd go watch just because she's in a movie would be Emma Stone, and she hasn't demonstrated even 50% of Anne's range and versatility.... yet... The Help was EXCELLENT

And here are my thoughts on the other young actresses currently out there.

Natalie Portman: over rated
Keira Knightly: Decent range
Ellen Page: haven't seen enough to form a real opinion
Amanda Seyfried: waaaaaaaaaay underated. She has a fantastic range
Michell Williams: Too depressing
Anna Paquin: Past her prime. It's all been downhill since her oscar, once she signed up for True Blood, she pretty much pigeon holed herself
Anna Kendrick: Great actor
Mila Kunis: Another great actor
Emma Watson: Tons of potential
Kat Dennings: Haven't seen enough to form an opinion
Evan Rachel Wood: Has picked good roles for herself
Abbie Cornish: Meh
Carey Mulligan: Can't wait to see more of her
Rooney Mara: Interested to see more as well
Dakota Fanning: So accomplished already at such a young age
Jennifer Lawrence: Haven't seen enough yet to be exceptionally impressed yet
Chloe Grace Moretz: Promising start
Saoirse Ronan: Promising start
Lily Collins: Might have some potential.
K Stew: Bottom of the Barrel

This is just off the top of my head, but if her name isn't on this list... I probably don't consider her an actor.

She's def got acting skills, but that doesn't mean I'll like her. I can't stand her cause I think she's ugly and annoying haha. Kinda like how I don't like Forrest Whitaker lol.

I just don't like how they try to put some actors in just for popularity's sake... I think I said this in the actual Batman thread, haha.

I recognize Anne Hathaway's acting ability, but I just think that certain looks fit certain roles.

One actor I know you like that you forgot in your list is Emma Stone. I recognize her acting abilities too, but she has been cast in too many roles that don't fit her look/style. Same with another actor you forgot in your list - Rachel McAdams. She's a decent actor, but she's got a certain look/style that doesn't fit every role that she's been cast in.

One up and comer that I find is good - Emma Roberts. Julia Roberts's niece.

i think it all depends on role. some people are good at certain roles, others are not. it's not so much about versatility as much as it's about choosing the role that suits you best.

the only person that i can think of that skirts around that and gets away with it is wil smith. he'll take a wide variety of roles and makes millions for doing a poor job at it.

Just as long as they're not completely ill fitted for that role... like George Clooney as Batman.

I think of all the bad Batmen, George Clooney was the worst. His aloof demeanor just did not fit.
