TED conference to move to Vancouver next year

This is actually really big news. I would love to go to one of these conferences, if it weren't for the $7500 ticket price.

i read about this last night, and i was wondering how many of you guys jizzed over it lol.
i never thought vancouver was techy enough to host, but i guess it comes down to venue costs and stuff?

It's not just tech stuff. They gather the best minds of a lot of different areas of thought - science, religion, art, music, technology, business and lots more.

I actually have a theory that they chose Vancouver because they have so many people from around the world coming to the conference that they wanted some place that's easier to enter than the U.S. The U.S. has quite a few people blacklisted, so it'd be hard for those people to get to it.

i'd think toronto would be more diverse in that, but vancouver is a nicer city to be in, that's for sure.

that is being said with no idea of how these ted talks work.

I guess you didn't read the article.

Talking about tickets to just get in to listen to the talks, so no sponsorship there. This conference is in so high demand that even though price is $7500, you have to write an essay to say why you deserve to be sold the tickets.

Although, I'm not sure if the article writer was just exaggerating or not.

I guess there's more stuff at the conference than you can see on the online videos.
Like, why would you watch a movie in the theatres when you can watch it at home?
