In summary:

Five of us were there.
We decided that the purpose of this challenge is not to have 1 winner and 8 losers but rather 9 winners. As such, goals and timelines are determined based on individual hopes. Everyone puts in $x. (amount still to be confirmed) If a person fails to achieve their goal, they lose their $x. The $ in the 'pot' is divided amonst those who achieve their personal goals.

Some goals have been discussed. Others are still a work in progress.

I think we have all started at this point, but since the evaluation period is not all the same for everyone starting a week or two later shouldn't make any difference. Keian and JT also didn't make it to the weigh and I know they have interest joining.

I guess it depends on when you want to start. I think some of us were eager to get started.

Joyce even had interest, but she didn't want to be the only girl.

it sounds to me like this is more of a personal thing with a little group accountability. if people have started but there was no money on the table i wonder if the money part is even necessary.

I think the money is just added incentive for people to reach their goals... I am have been trying to get into shape probably for the better part of the whole year... hopeful this will encourage me to step it up even more. at least that's how i see it.

All you have to do is set a goal for yourself and share it with us. You're right that it's just a group accountability challenge more than anything, but Joel's right in that the money may add a bit more incentive for us all.

The goal should probably be a measurable goal, so nothing like "I want to feel more healthy". Also, you probably know how much you way, so all you have to do is use Jai's fat analyzer thing.

hm, i was trying to think of a realistic goal for myself, but for the life of me i couldn't think of one.

how about someone list up the goals that were already set?
