just looked it up. apparently they'll stop the fantastic four series, but will continue the story in a new series called FF.

It's probably because Chris Evans, who played Johnny Storm in the movies is now playing Captain America. To do away with any confusion, Johnny Storm had to die so Captain America can exist.

the back story is that time-travelling aliens stole johnny storms dna, went back in time and implanted it into Sarah Rogers in the past and was born as Steve Rogers... (aka Capt America)
