who wants to buy a car?

When I was looking for a car I wanted a BMW 3 Series Coupe or Convertible but couldn't justify the cost with the amount of driving that I do.
Next on the list was the Celica or the RSX, but decided against them as I didn't want my insurance rates to be determined by 16 year old asian street racers. At the time that was big on the news.
I didn't even consider VWs because of their Beatle/Chick car image... or at least that's how I perceived them.

I ended up going domestic and getting a Mustang. A V6 Mustang... chick car all the way. :/

and as much as i enjoy vw's it doesn't mean that i think they're the greatest cars ever made, i just like them. with their levels of practicality, sportiness, performance and fit and finish rolled in with a level of attractiveness that catches my eye, i feel like they're great cars (not all of them mind you, i wouldn't be caught dead in a beetle either and that new jetta really annoys me).

would i consider other cars? of course, i'm not that narrow minded. if i were i wouldn't be paying 30 grand for a mazda that i don't like but recognise meets our needs (and while financing that i'm leasing a vw that i love?).

actually, i think road and track rated the mustang as one of the few "affordable" guy cars. the rest were high end sports cars or trucks. the beetle was the #1 chick car on that list haha.

if i were to buy i a car that i wanted... i'd go american muscle too. maybe not a mustang, but maybe a challenger, or charger... i know nothing about their reliability and performance tho'... so that may factor in..

american muscle performance is pretty good, they always get a bad rap. BUT one thing is true is that the price for their performance (and relatively cheap-per-hp cars) is paid at the pump.

i was thinking about a camaro before my current golf, actually. i won't see myself in a beetle but maybe a camaro lol bumblebee.

The Chargers and Challengers look like big boats. I'm not a huge fan. Maybe the new Camaro though.. that looks okay.
The new Mustangs are pretty nice.

i never really had anything against vws until i sold my civic and starting driving alicia's jetta... that's right.. i still call it alicia's jetta because i refuse to be associated to that hunka junk... i think i don't like vws only because of the taint that's left in my brain after driving that car for 3 years... damn i miss my civic... even though it was a civic, it was better than the bora 2.slow...

honestly, vws aren't that bad... i just wont drive one ever again unless it was a super sweet ride...

there was an article in the sun the other day about which cars will still look cool in 10 years, and i think the charger was one of them.
the mini was another.

and you guessed it... the beetle lol.

oh, i'll probably add that the next car i buy will probably be japanese... unless i have the money to buy a high end german car, i'll stick with my relatively over priced japanese cars because for the most part, they give less headaches

you'll be surprised with how fast the japanese cars are climbing in the unreliability scale.
if you want reliable now, you get korean lol.

oh man i just looked at some korean cars to see what car i would pick if i had to pick one and it was pretty tough to find anything i liked... just based on look i'd probably go with either the kia forte coupe or scion tc... too bad there's no such thing as a korean muscle car...
