not sure i understand your reasoning just in regards to the playbook. i can understand if icons are much too small, but such is definitely not the case with the playbook.
can you elaborate a bit?

not exactly sure but i think maybe what jai is getting at is the greater the screen resolution is equal to more screen real estate. at the level you are talking about (7-10") the size of the pixels not are not as big as a concern with the actual number of pixels you have... i think it's virtually impossible to distinguish a single pixel at that size so being able to have more pixels is > than having more pixels over the same surface area.

and i guess more screen real estate = more productivity

Yeah, the vertical resolution 768 on the iPad vs 600 pixels on the Playbook means that you get more viewable lines on a document or webpage, etc.

Makes a difference for some people, but not a big deal for others.

That was a pretty big point of oddity with the Playbook, because Blackberry's target market was business people... making the Playbook with a smaller screen and less resolution depth is more geared towards media users.

^ exactly. editing an excel spreadsheet with the density of the playbook will be a lot more challenging than doing the same sheet on a 10" tablet with a 1280 x 800 res.

Get something like the Asus Transformer then. It's tablet with a full keyboard dock that make it's like a laptop. Lenevo has a similar one, or get a Panasonic S9, u can use it in the shower, or a tablet from DRS.

Yes it transforms, from a "Laptop" to a tablet and vice versa. Runs on Andriod, DRS runs on Win7.

Yeah, there are lots of brands i've never heard of until i had to find out the info for them.

There's a few unknown brands like Yoyotech, iBuy, Mobile Demand, Xplore and Trigem.

Asus UX21 is the windows version of Mac Air. Weighs 3lbs.

i think i've decided to just get the playbook. i know everyone is going to hate on it, but it does what i need it to do while sharing on my phone's existing data plan and bulletproof security (not like i need it though).
