Iphone 4s or 5?

i wonder if the next iphone would be called the iphone5. because if you think about it, the iphone4 was the 4th iphone, the iphone 4s is the 5th iphone, so shouldn't whatever comes out next year be called iphone 6?

just thinking outloud.

^lol. with the face of smartphones as it were, it's all about the apps. if you don't have a good selection of apps or ability to run those apps then apparently your phone is crap, regardless if it's solid communication device.

i found this on crackberry, looking at the specs i wouldn't say that the 4s is waaaaaay beyond everyone else, but according to tibp, they just caught up to where android was 6 months ago. even the fanbois were disappointed with this one.

i am curious as to breakdown of smartphone usage for you guys all hip with it...
about what % of time spent using your smartphone for:
-making/receiving calls and texts
-using "useful" apps (thing like calendars, etc...) (things that may save time)
-using "entertainment" apps (things that are more for enjoyment) (things that may kill time)

just for me (but i have a feeling that i'm more the exception than the rule)
probably about 80% of my phone usage is towards communication (calls, im's, emails, social networking)
maybe 15% is organisation/productivity/reading news/books (but this for me ties into communication too)
and the last 5% is for games and such, i only play poker on my phone, but that game is so rigged that i'm getting sick of it.

I already knew it was going to be iPhone 4S because they're following with their previous pattern, but still kind of disappointed it's not the iPhone 5.

Since my 3G is pretty close to dead, I think I'll have to settle with the 4S...

wouldn't following the previous pattern be releasing a 4g model? the 4s doesn't have 4g.

They took out the "g" in the naming convention because they didn't want people to think that the iPhone 4 was able to use the 4G cellular data technology.

i'd say 25% is calling/texting
25% is useful apps
and 50% is entertainment...

but here's what i'd say alicia uses her phone for (actually, she steals my phone because the 3g is so slow now and that's the main reason why i want her to have the new phone because it's annoying to try to look for my phone when she steals it and leaves it anywhere she pleases and i can't ever find my phone)
5% calling/texting
5% useful stuff
90% entertainment... she's a sucker for these little app games... so annoying when i put down my phone at 90% battery remaining, and pick it up 2 hrs later (AT SOME RANDOM LOCATION AT HOME THAT'S DIFFERENT FROM WHERE I LEFT THE PHONE IN THE FIRST PLACE) and i have 8% battery left...

There was so much anger that they came out with the iPhone 4S instead of the much anticipated iPhone 5 that Apple's stock dropped yesterday.

most equity stocks dropped yesterday until the late afternoon it was an overall market trend and not limited to just apple.
