winter tires in vancouver or all seasons?

i wouldn't recommend running oversized tires without tweaking your onboard cpu . you may not have any problems, but your tires are the most important thing for your car for safety.

fatter tires aren't great for the snow either anyway, you should get as thin as possible. iirc, your stock rims are 15x6.5, so you should easily be able to fit a 205 on there. my stockers are 17x7.5 and i was thinking about getting 205's even.

well, there are two things to check, the width (first number) and aspect ratio (second number). the third number is just the rim size.

check the tread on them too. rubbing isn't good for your tires at all, especially if it's on the metal.

Not if they rub against your fender and fall out. No problem then.

205 isn't that big. It depends on the offset of the rims too.

hmm.. and for some reason, i feel more shaking of the car and steering wheel when i drive/brake now too after changing the wheels... i wonder if i need to get my wheels re-balanced or i have to check my alignment

205 is narrow, fits a 6-7.5 inch wide wheel. what kills you is the aspect ratio of 65. and you're on 15's, not 16's. there's no way you could fit a 16 inch tire on a 15 inch rim.

a regular size for your rim for your car would be 225/55/15, meaning your side wall *should* be around 124mm high. but with a 205/65, your side wall is around 133mm high, meaning you have roughly 20 extra mm on your diameter, which means you better get yourself some new tires before you totally eff up your odometer and braking.

if i have an extra 20mm on my diameter, that means that i'm getting more distance per rpm right? so i'm driving farther with less distance recorded... so i'm cheating the odometer...

i dunno.. i'm surprised alicia's dad didn't check the recommended size for the car when they got these tires... but once again, they were cheap and they fit the stock rims so they took it... oh well... they've been using these winter tires for like 5 years or so... haven't really effed anythign up so far, and if it does... like you said, i don't give a rats about that pos

yeah, you'll be getting more distance, and you're cheating the odo, but i still wouldn't recommend it.
don't forget your speedo will be off too, and with electronic braking, your brakes will be off too. but if you've been going 5 years with them without a problem then maybe you're ok. the bad news there is that tires usually only last 6 years, regardless of the km's on them.

i.e. get new tires.
