on to the street because it's easier and it's better for the grass for the leaves to be there anyway so on the street would give them a chance to blow back in.

I hate when people rake the leaves onto the street... makes a mushy mess, especially after rain. And you know how it rains in Vancouver.
Same with snow. If you shovel it onto the street, that creates bumps or blocks potential parking spaces.
