You can include Ep1-3 in the Star Wars series, if you think that helps it go against Matrix.

star wars 5-7 kicked matrix 1-3 in the butt in the way of story, and exceptional watch-again-ability. but mostly because matrix 2 and 3 were awful.

Yeah, the other 2 too... Although I admit the second one was the worst of the trilogy. There's always one bad episode in a trilogy.

Like Godfather 2 for example.

i guess if you count the clone wars animated movie as 3, return of the sith as 4, new hope as 5, empire strikes as 6, then return of the jedi is 7
