japanese place on rupert and 22nd

right across rupert from golden oscar, by the comic store. the food was pretty good. a bit more pricey, but the chicken karaage was probably the best i've ever had in my life.

it helped that waitress was pretty hot (i think she's half japanese and half white). dumb as nails though.

do you remember what it was called? i think i remember seeing it when we went to the malaysian place beside it. Speaking of which, the malaysian place was pretty good too but i forgot what it was called too lol

don't remember what it's called. but we were actually going to go to the malaysian place, but the wait was too long. the japanese place was packed too, but sat us pretty quick (like 5 minutes as opposed to 15, just luck of the draw).

yea, the malay place is pretty good. It tasted a little more home cooked/authentic than places like tropika

we were going to go there the other day but we're actually afraid of how ryan would like it now. so maybe one day when we leave him at home we'll try it.

The Malaysian place is actually a fusion restaurant. Malaysian-Chinese food.. so you won't find any traditional Malaysian food. Even if you do, they "chinese" it up, like their Laksa. It's pretty good though.

Anyway - this thread is about the Japanese place next door, lol.
I've always wanted to try that Japanese place though. I guess it's next on my list now.

i think it's gone actually... either that or it was renovating. i went to the malay place back in may or june and noticed the japanese place next door was stripped down.

Hmmm, I picked up food from Penang Cafe last week and I thought that I saw that Sushi Kimura was still there. I didn't look at the sign so I might be a different sushi place now.

maybe renovated then? i was at the malaysian place in july and it was a japanese place for sure. not sure if it was the same one, but the hot waitress wasn't there.
