I had 2-3-9-9 in my hand, so I had a decent low and a nice pocket pair on the high... I wouldn't have folded pre-flop.

We played High Chicago (Seven Card Stud split pot: highest poker hand & highest covered Spade) The betting was higher than normal up to the turn card. Lots of back and forth. But then after the river, Betting went nuts. I was sure that people had high covered spades cuz everyone was showing CRAP, remember, it's a straight stud game, no wilds or crazy rules. A high pair at best was showing. Once all the betting was finished, no one had a covered spade and everyone hit on their river. I beat out a four of a kind and a King house with a straight flush that I hit.
