I never liked the Green Lantern story... there's like a whole planet full of these guys with the same powers. Who needs any other superheroes?

yeah, the green lantern corps are like galactic cops, each with their own jurisdiction i think. but if he can create anything with that ring, i think he should create world peace.

i just watched the trailer again and it's looking really good. special effects up the ying yang, which is to be expected, but i didn't see a clark kent anywhere. i wonder what he's going to look like...

amy adams is lois? why doesn't lois lane have black hair anymore?
i think the best lois lanes in order of bestness are:
teri hatcher (fiesty and hawt like lois is supposed to be)
margo kidder (just fiesty)
smallville version (sorta hawt)
kate bosworth (wtf)

that's a good analysis. sorta like how in the marvel world the people aren't inclined to love the x-men or spiderman, regardless of what good they do.
however i thought it was funny that they put supes in handcuffs.

i think the later ones, yeah. but the early comics show him as a pretty stand up guy that everyone loves and can't live without.
at least the ones i remember reading were like that.

yes, i agree the much of the movies and tv shows have gone even further with how idyllic they represent both superman and the world he exists in.

and know that that there are cases in the comics where superman's infallibility have been focused on. they do have more contemporary comics that address a "darker side" to superman. but those are more the exception than the norm.

And I would say it's more so the world's all consuming trust in superman, that I can't get over. If anything the paranoid Lex seems more representative of a realistic reaction to an alien super being that could do what superman can do.

don't get me wrong i'm not saying i hate superman or think he's not important to the dc universe he exists in, just that i find his character less interesting than some others because of the sort of perfection and idealism his character represents and is designed to represent.

it's like if you look at the majority of alien life, in the dc universe you can see that variety of shapes/sizes they come in MM, dark seid, kilowag, sinestro, etc... the creators still designed him to represent human perfection in body and morality.

and not to mention that is motto is for truth, justice, and the AMERICAN way...
oh yeah, his costume is red and blue too.
