That's $350 with 2 year contract though. The iPhone was $299 on a 3 year contract with minimum $50 monthly plan.

I think the cell phone companies have taken away the requirement for $50 minimum plan and also the requirement for adding data, or something like that.

yea, last i checked, the iphone didn't need a $50 contract anymore either. And sure, it's $299 on a 3 year vs 2 year, but i think we all know most people are dumb enough to hitch their wagon on a 3 yr contract to save $50... I boggles my mind how people think certain deals are better than others. My favourite is at fast food joints where they advertise such and such burger for 2.99 but they'll have a "promo" for buy two for only $5.99! Umm... you actually pay a penny more for the promo than buying the two burgers "separately"...

rogers is selling the z10 for $139 on 3-year contract at min $45 a month. fido's 2 year plans and much cheaper than their 3 year plans (the promo $56/60 2-year one is actually exactly the same or better than the $80 3-year one), maybe that's why. still, it's way too expensive.

Because it's an all touch screen smart phone with an OS that looks (note, I just said looks) similar. Samsung's been sued for less. In fact, Apple went so far as to change the size of picture evidence comparing the Galaxy to the iPhone, just to make it look more similar.
