tons of shows have adopted the "mid season finale" idea. I remember heroes even did that way back when we still talked about heroes because it was a decent show... it's because they don't want people to lose interest when they go on a xmas/winter break... a lot of shows go on a 4-6 week break in Dec/Jan.

yeah, i know a lot of shows use it, i still think it's dumb. especially when the "season" isn't so clearly defined anymore. homeland's season ended in early january or something weird like that. it was like 2 episodes after the christmas break. it makes me wonder why they even had a break at all.

so the other night i was watching the last episode of the 3rd season, and right when there was about 15 minutes left the sound went all weird. it started to play sound from the scene about 10 minutes prior. i was all confused before i realised what happened, so i quickly shut it down before i got any spoilers, and promptly started downloading that one episode. of course, this was around 3am, so i couldn't wait for the d/l to finish and just went to sleep.

well, last night i went to watch that last 15 minutes, which turned out to be about just 10 more seconds (and 14m 90s of credits) of no dialogue. fml.

is it me or are the seasons starting later and later?

walking dead and other shows of that ilk aren't your traditional 20-25 episode runs from sept to may/june. These shows are usually only 13-15 episodes so they start later, and end earlier in the year
