watched over the weekend, it was meh. i guess it was a bit better than the first one which i though was extremely vanilla.

the action scenes seemed better choreographed in comparison to the first. you actually get that sense of the agility and acrobatic skill the Cap other than just a brawling style of fighting in the first one. they make use of his shield much better as well, in combination with his acrobatics.

i could have done without the handi-cam during the action scenes. they employ that blurry, fast-like cinematography speed where you can't really see everything that's going on in action scenes though. which i'm not particularly a fan of.

story/acting is just mediocre. there are some major holes in the plot that you need to overlook. and that they titled the movie "the winter soldier" is a bit deceiving... since the character is more of a side plot than the main plot, which i had thought would be the case going into the movie.

it's probably worth the watch, but don't have very high expectations going in to this.

watched Cap 2 over the weekend and I'd pretty much echo Joel's comments. That's not to say the movie sucked, but it wasn't marvel's best. I still like it better than the 1st Cap, but this one was only marginally better.

i bet this was just another movie to tie in the whole avengers universe like the first one.
that, and to tie in with the agents of shield tv show.

thor/cap america franchises have seem to be a step below iron-man/avengers imo.

I thought with the winter soldier story they really had an opportunity to do much better character development (like first class did for xmen), but they really missed the chance on that one it seems.

but looking much more forward to both xmen:DoFP and GotG

If they ever do another Fantastic 4, I hope they do something more advanced along the storyline. I'd hate to see another F4 origin movie.
