the whole Tonight Show thing

anyone else following the drama surrounding NBC, Conan and Jay Leno?

so right now it looks probably like Jay Leno's getting back the Tonight Show at 11:35, and that Conan's going to leave NBC. In my ideal world, Jay would realize (even it it's NBC's fault and not his) that he should just retire and not have a show, for the sake of Conan getting to keep the 11:35 Tonight Show slot that he worked towards for so many years.

But if Conan thinks that NBC has already tarnished the Tonight Show's reputation beyond repair and decides to leave NBC, i personally wouldn't mind seeing Conan doing an 11:35 show on FOX... I think it was great that Conan ended up doing the Tonight Show in the first place but maybe he's realizing that the Tonight Show wasn't all that great a franchise to inherit after all, because of Jay's involvement in it.

Or he should replace Jimmy Kimmel on ABC. (i don't mind kimmel actually, but i don't really watch him either.)

Leno's problem isn't his timeslot. He's just done.
I think it would be awesome if another network picked up Conan.
Leno + Fallon = More sleep for me! zzzZZZzzz

NBC realized that Leno was done and wouldn't be in the future plans for the Tonight Show, although he still had decent ratings. It was a safe show that appealed to the regular tonight show viewers.

Conan, who was a bit more offbeat, had a younger viewership, but his humor wasn't right for the regular tonight show viewers.

Letterman used to be too offbeat too, but in his age or maturity as a late night host, he's found out what works.

Fallon just plan sucks. It's painful to watch him.

i thought conan was way less funny when he took jay's slot. and jay was much less entertaining when he got another show. i don't know why they bothered.
i remember his first show and his first guest was jerry seinfeld, and jerry was like, "you know, i had a show once. but the only difference is when it ended, we left."

Conan's rating was dropping, Leno's rating was dropping so something had to change. Fox is the winner, cuz now they have a late show, but Conan is still Conan, it's....
