i dunno.. i tip like a toonie on a 10 dollar hair cut....

do koreans expect tips?

Also, how do you request who gets to cut your hair? you just walk in there, they have a bunch of girls lined up with numbers on their chest and you tell the dude, I want #7? Especially if they're young fobs, I assume they dont each have their own appointment book.

Maybe I should try that place too, chinatown is a bit far, but they usually cut my hair alright.

do they cut it like your avatar or like your sig? because i'm not sure i'd want either.

for tip i usually just add 10% and round up to the whole dollar. so a $25 dollar haircut (for ryan) i'd give 28 total.

Keep in mind it's a hair salon, not a bordello, so they don't line up the girls for you to pick based on whicever one looks hot. haha.. that's so demeaning.

Usually, you try out several of them first, then get to know their names and pick whichever one cuts your hair the best. Then next time, either call in ahead and ask to book an appointment for that person, or if you walk in, just say you want to wait for that person.

The hair salon on Joyce is called Joyce Hair Salon. It's on Joyce St between Vanness Ave and Crowley Dr.

It costs $15 plus tax, so I usually give them a $20 and tell them to keep the change. Daffy works in the spa business and she says usually expects more than a restaurant 15% tip, so probably around 20-25%. That's a western place though... asian places usually expect less tip.

ok, just went there this morning. it's actually called Joyce Hair Design, and there weren't any hot chicks when i was there.
when i walked in it was clear that they just opened (9am) as they were still getting things ready. no females to be seen. so some dude told me to sit down and as soon as i did is when three females came out of the back (none of which were hot).

anyway, decent cut, bone crushing scalp massage, hair wash, $17 taxes in. i gave him a 20 and took off.

i'd probably go back, now that i sort of know the routine because i couldn't understand him through his thick korean accent.

i dropped by this place too and whoever said there is hot chicks lied. i went after work and there was a grandma there operating cash, one girl cutting hair (not hot) and another girl doing random stuff around the shop (not even average) and then the gay dude who cut my hair.

it was an okay cut, i would probably go back just because so cheap and not completely horrible.

oh man.. you got the gay guy! I got unlucky and got the gay guy twice.

They do have cute Korean chicks there, seriously... you two just got there at bad times. The granny that operates cash is the owner.

They have such a high employee turnover though, there are always fresh batches of Korean chicks that cut hair there... some hot, some not..

the more i read this, the more it sounds like a brothel. The grandma handling the cash, high turnover rate of chicks that cant speak english... I guess i'll give it a try in a week or two and see for myself

i think i've only seen 2 girls there who were good looking.. i wouldn't say they were hot, but they were better than average... the other girls there aren't very good looking yea... but then again, it's better than getting the gay guy ahha...

and yup, the scalp massage depending who you get is pretty bone crushing... after a while you get used to it and i kinda enjoy it haha

i was at the bay yesterday and as i was walking out i noticed a salon there on the right side of the entrance to the bay. i walked in because i needed to get some hair products for the ever growing mane on my head.

TALK ABOUT HOT.

i don't know if they cut hair or not, but i'm thinking i'll go there next time.
